Fire Station 336! For the next stop in our station tour series, we’re meeting you in downtown Marana!

📍 13475 N. Marana Main St., Marana, AZ 85653
🏠 Built: 2005

🚒🚑 Apparatus & Staffing: EN334 (4 crew members) and reserve apparatus staffed as needed. LD336 coming soon!

🏡 Station 336 is 13,534 square feet. It was built in anticipation of the projected growth of North Marana and includes capacity for additional apparatus and personnel as the region continues to expand.

✈️Crew members from Station 336 respond to residential emergencies, as well as incidents occurring on I-10 and at the Marana Regional Airport, among other emergency incident types.

🧭 The station is located next door to the Northwest Fire District Administrative Building and is also the northernmost station in the District.

Today, we’re celebrating the women of Northwest Fire District and recognizing the many ways they contribute to our organization and the community we serve.

August 26 is Women’s Equality Day, commemorating the passage of the 19th Amendment and women gaining the constitutional right to vote.

More than a century later, we’re proud to recognize the women who bring their experience, leadership, and dedication to Northwest Fire District every day. While not everyone is pictured here, each of them plays an important role in what we do and the people we serve.

Tomorrow is National Dog Day! 🐶🚒

In honor of the upcoming pawliday, we put together a few fire service dog facts! Four-legged community members are part of our mission, too. 🐾❤️

A quick reminder for pet owners: Know your pets’ favorite hiding spots. If a pet is trapped inside during a fire, tell firefighters right away. Never try to go back inside for a pet. 🚒🐾

1. Firefighters have special oxygen masks to help dogs (and other pets) rescued from fires.
2. The raised center section of a fire engine is called the “doghouse.”
3. Arson-detection dogs can sniff out accelerants at fire scenes.
4. Before fire engines, Dalmatians ran alongside horse-drawn fire wagons to help clear the way.
5. Violet is a certified therapy dog who helps care for our firefighters and our community.

Saturday Spotlight! 🚒

Today, we’re highlighting Captain Jeff Hamblen, who has been part of the Northwest Fire District family since 2007.

Jeff started his career as a Firefighter Recruit, became a Paramedic in 2011, and was promoted to Captain in 2018. Over the years, he’s taken on some unique roles within the District, including serving on the Honor Guard, as a member of the Special Operations team, and as a SWAT team medic.

In April 2025, Jeff was the first-arriving captain to a critical bus rollover crash on I-10. Before Battalion Chief officers arrived, he took charge of the scene and did an incredible job directing the response during a challenging and rapidly evolving incident.

Jeff is someone who genuinely cares about the people around him. He’s always willing to share his experience and help support others. His knowledge, encouragement, and willingness to help make a lasting impact on our crews.

Jeff has also been a familiar face in our community through media interviews, helping share information about fire and life safety, further supporting our mission to save lives, protect property, and care for our community.

After nearly 20 years with NWFD, Jeff has built a career that reflects his willingness to step up, take on new challenges, and serve wherever he’s needed. And he does it all with a smile on his face!

We’re grateful for Captain Hamblen and everything he brings to the Northwest Fire District!
