Meteor over Houston March 21, 2026 ☄️😳
Earlier today, NASA confirmed a bright meteor streaked through Earth’s atmosphere over the Houston area at incredible speed, creating a powerful sonic boom heard across the city. People reported a loud explosion, and some even said they felt vibrations inside their homes.
And here’s the part that has everyone talking…
There are reports that a possible fragment may have gone through someone’s roof—which had to be terrifying, but thankfully no one was hurt.
This is what happens when space debris from asteroids enters our atmosphere. The extreme speed and pressure cause it to heat up, glow, and often explode in what scientists call an airburst.
Most meteors burn up completely before reaching the ground…
but in rare cases, small pieces can survive and land as meteorites.
Earth is constantly moving through a field of cosmic debris, and our atmosphere acts like a shield protecting us most of the time.
Events like this are rare—but they’re real…
and they remind us that we are literally living on a planet traveling through space surrounded by constant cosmic activity.
