Brew Your Own Brew: A Farewell After 30 Years of Community, Craft, and Connection
For thirty years, Brew Your Own Brew has been more than a business. It has been a gathering place, a learning space, and a cornerstone of Arizona’s homebrewing community. As the doors close for the final time, what remains is a legacy built on passion, craftsmanship, and the thousands of people who discovered the joy of brewing through its aisles.
A Three-Decade Journey
Customers didn’t just come in for yeast or grain. They came in to talk recipes, compare experiments, and share their successes. Many brewed their first b**r with ingredients from the shop. Some went on to win competitions. A few even opened breweries of their own. Brew Your Own Brew became part of their stories, and they became part of its.
What made the shop special wasn’t just the products, it was the relationships. The conversations at the counter, the laughter during classes, the problem-solving sessions over stubborn fermentations, the excitement of someone bottling their first batch. These moments created a community that extended far beyond the walls of the store. For longtime customers, Brew Your Own Brew was a place where people remembered your name, your favorite hops, and the style you were trying to perfect. It was a place where questions were welcomed and curiosity was celebrated.
Closing a business after thirty years is never simple, but it is sometimes the right step. The decision comes with a mix of pride, gratitude, and the bittersweet recognition that every chapter eventually reaches its end. To everyone who ever walked through the door, asked a question, shared a b**r, or trusted the shop with their brewing journey: thank you. Your support made these thirty years possible. Your enthusiasm made them meaningful.
Our Gilbert store will close on Tuesday, March 31st. Our Tucson store will close on Thursday, April 30th.
