The More you know…

Dia de Mu***os, commonly known as "Dia de Los Mu***os", is not a celebration of Death nor is it "Mexican Halloween". Dia de Mu***os is an event and celebration birthed in the Indigenous cultures of ancient Mexico.
Before any European contact, death for the Mexica and other Indigenous Peoples was not seen as a final end. Death was the place of silence, a place of regeneration; it was a natural part of life.
Because Día de Mu***os uses skulls and skeletons as symbols; and because, of course, it’s called Day of the Dead in English, the assumption by many is that it celebrates death. But, it really celebrates the lives of our ancestors and deceased loved ones. It is a time of reflection. 🤎🦅🌾🪶🌻
