Here’s what GeoGRAFX is doing to help our clients and communities get through this:
Webinars for previous versions of MapInfo/Discover training are now available online at no charge at https://lnkd.in/gZcxU7f. Each Webinar is based on one of the chapters in the training manuals and contains the video as well as the detailed course manual, example datasets, and utilities used in the course.

We will initiate a series of webinars for the current version of MapInfo/Discover. The webinars are one to two hours in duration and cover a specific topic related to the MapInfo/Discover/Discover 3D platform.

If you are working remotely, Datamine/Discover temporary licenses are available from https://lnkd.in/gZcxU7f if you need to refresh your skills or want to evaluate the current version of the software.

We will provide viewers and smartphone access for clients with current projects so they can continue to review their project’s updates either on their computer or online.

We can provide short term support to keep your projects updated during these challenging times. This provides an ideal solution for companies with field projects where the data is sent at the end of the day and updated databases, maps and cross sections are available the following morning.

I don’t think any of us have ever experienced a situation quite like this one. GeoGRAFX will continue to provide both software and project support either via phone, email, or virtual platforms and clients can expect to receive the same high level of service they are used to until this threat has passed and business resumes as usual.

I’ve just finished the updated Intro to MapInfo/Discover workbook. It’s been completely rewritten to feature the 64-bit interface and is now over 600 pages. I just keep adding new capabilities to keep up with the software. We’re using it for the Dec 10-11 training course here in Tucson, so if you want to learn the basics of MapInfo/Discover or familiarize yourself with the ribbon toolbar, there are still some spaces left.

GIS Training Schedule for Geologists Winter - Tucson, AZ 2019

I received requests for additional courses and dates, so I've updated the schedule accordingly.

The Tucson winter schedule now includes the following courses:

Dec 10-11, 2019 - Introduction to Datamine Discover (2-day course) - ideal for the first time user who wants to learn the basics of the Discover GIS software suite, or the experienced MapInfo user who wants to familiarize themselves with the new 64-bit ribbon toolbar.

Nov 25, 2019 and Dec 12, 2019 - Discover Mobile (1-day course) - create projects on the desktop for use in the mobile environment to display and capture data in the field.

Nov 26, 2019 and Dec 19, 2019 - Enhanced Garmin GPS Capabilities (1-day course) - learn to manage data for your Garmin and transfer custom maps, BirdsEye Imagery, waypoints, tracks, and routes between your computer and Garmin device.

We've tried to scheduled the courses before Thanksgiving when people should be in from the field as well as after the SME conference here in Tucson the first of December. Discover Mobile Short Course, Nov 25, 2019 Tucson, AZ. This one-day course will familiarize both new and existing Datamine Discover users with the suite of functions available in Discover Mobile. The course introduces the basics of creating Discover Mobile projects on the desktop for use in the android mobile environment. The software combination, designed especially for the geosciences, provides the tools to effectively compile, visualize, collect, and map spatial geosciences data in the field.
