Amazing things happen within our community. In a matter of a few (dozen) emails, we organized a pollinator garden installation for desertsky_communityschool

The kinder class enjoyed a morning of planting and learning about rainwater collection and how to properly plant a pollinator garden. We all pitched in and had a lovely time.

Got a rough looking citrus tree? It could take a year+ to see it heal.

You’re going to water it more (fix those watering issues!), mulch it, and make sure the root flare is exposed, and check the graft so the root stock does not take over.

When you’re at a loss on how to make an impact on such an overwhelming issue like climate change, start somewhere like your garden. Wildlife as small as bees, insects, birds…they all need continuous wild spaces to link up their habitat. A wildlife refuge in your backyard is refuge for you, too.

I’m a deeply feeling person which compels me to endlessly build habitat for flora and fauna. I ran out of space at my house, so 4 years ago I made a business to plant habitat and grow food in yours! ☺️ I’m so sneaky, and those cute lil stinkers deserve it. 🦇

Homegrown National Park is a place you can look more into this important work and get inspired.

She’s just a bit broody…wanting to sit on those eggs. But it’s still hot out, and I need to encourage her out to take care of herself. Water, food, more breezes.

Maybe she can play mama hen this fall. Having animals in your permaculture garden really helps with the closed loop systems. Their waste gets composted, and we feed them veggies and scarps from the garden. We buy a high quality nutritious feed for our little flock, and our chickens are part of our family. They are very much loved.
