Greetings, archaeology lovers! In light of recent developments in the US House of a Representatives and Senate, the future of the accessibility of graduate education hangs in the balance.

If you plan on attending graduate school or are a supporter of higher education, please help to ensure that the final version of the US tax bill does not include taxes on tuition waivers. This tax would make graduate school unaffordable for many. The Senate bill did not include this, but as the House and Senate work to reconcile on the bill, the House needs to hear YOUR voices!

Click the link below to let your Representatives know that you oppose the tax on tuition waivers for graduate students. Graduate education is essential in archaeology, so we urge you to strongly consider playing a role in this as fans or friends of archaeology.

For more information on this bill, visit the National Humanities Alliance at www.nhalliance.org

Your donation today will advance archaeological research, education and preservation throughout 2017. More than ever, we need your help so that the past is not lost forever. Your support helps to save endangered archaeological sites and artifacts all over the world, fosters scholarly research, nurtures public interest through the AIA lecture program and publications, and helps us tell the policy makers in Washington that the world's cultural heritage is worth saving.
