The Folklorico community has lost a true icon and cultural pioneer.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family of Julie Gallego-Gonzalez and the Viva Performing Arts Center.

Julie's lifelong dedication to Hispanic dance shaped the cultural landscape of Tucson. Her vibrant spirit and legacy will continue to inspire dancers for generations to come.

We stand in solidarity with her students and loved ones during this difficult time. May she rest in peace, dancing among the angels.🪽🙏
