"I'm sorry you feel that way" is very narcissistic especially when someone presents nothing but facts and remains calm. It's interesting to see that it's being used in identity politics and how readily it's accepted. Can't help wonder if or when I tried gaslighting someone in such a way.
It's definitely not a phrase that builds or reinforces relationships. It would be much more beneficial for something along the lines of please allow me to think through the data or information you recently presented me with.
If you continuously hear that phrase it's most likely a good indicator something is severely off.
Is something severally off? Well if you're engaging over the internet the possibilities of dealing with a narcissist or chatbot is right up there with failure to communicate.
