📢 Shop Local Otero Beta Update 📢

As we continue planning the best and most executable path for our shopper-side vision, we’ve been combining internal planning with the feedback and ideas shared by the community.

Based on that input, we’re making an important adjustment to how the platform serves local shoppers.

➡️ Free listings will now have access to Deals and Events.

We believe this change better supports the local ecosystem by:
• Giving shoppers easier access to what local businesses are offering
• Increasing visibility and engagement for businesses running deals or events
• Strengthening the connection between the community and the businesses that serve it

This adjustment allows us to move forward in a way that’s practical, sustainable, and aligned with our core goal — making it easier for people to discover and support local businesses.

As always, this is part of the beta process, and community feedback continues to shape how Shop Local Otero grows.

🚧 Shop Local Otero Beta – What’s Next 🚧

We’re excited to share what we’re beginning work on next for Shop Local Otero — the shopper side of the platform.

Up to now, our focus has been on building tools for local businesses. Now, we’re starting to design features specifically for the people who use the platform to discover, follow, and support local businesses.

Here’s what we’re currently working on and exploring:

• A “Follow Business” feature so shoppers can keep track of their favorite local listings
• A personalized Deals & Events feed that shows what your followed businesses have going on
• Early exploration of digital coupons and loyalty / stamp card systems (experimental — still in the idea phase)
• Additional shopper-focused tools to make supporting local easier and more intentional

⚠️ This is all part of the beta process — things may change, evolve, or get tested before becoming permanent features.
