As a kid growing up in my grandfathers’ wood shop I learned many things. Everything from scroll saw blades to paint offered me a new opportunity to listen and learn. The most memorable life skills I learned included appreciating the value of a dollar and understanding the importance of a strong work ethic. My grandfather was a farmer and woodworker, but first and foremost he was a family man. As a

former police officer, working long and tireless hours, I often struggled with the necessary choice between my job and my family. As a result, I made a choice for myself, and my family, to start my own business to pursue my interest and skill in woodworking; a choice I believe my grandfather would have supported and encouraged.
