We wanted to pass along this opportunity through PRPC’s Area Agency on Aging. As we get into the (supposed to be) hotter months of the year, sometimes our most vulnerable citizens are left without any air conditioning. This program through the Area Agency on Aging funds a portable air conditioner for citizens that meet the criteria.

We are posting this to the public, since you know your community members the best and know who could benefit from this program. If you know somebody that is interested in the program, please have them call 806-372-3381 and ask for Debbie King.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect between noon and 8 PM CDT for areas on the Caprock. The combination of southwesterly winds between 20-30 mph and very low relative humidity will result in favorable conditions for the rapid growth and spread of wildfires this afternoon. Avoid outdoor burning today.
