Being a Coach Isn’t Always Easy

One of the hardest parts of coaching is knowing that when people start to hit their potential—when they finally see what they’re capable of—they can also start to believe they don’t need you anymore.

And that’s tough.

Because behind the scenes, you’ve walked with them through the messy middle. You helped them build clarity, stay accountable, and push through resistance. You saw who they could become before they ever did.

But that’s the bittersweet truth of coaching: your success often looks like someone outgrowing you.

Still, I wouldn’t trade it. Because our job isn’t to stay needed—it’s to help others rise so high that they can lead themselves and others too.

That’s real impact.
That’s the win.
