We're all about adding whimsy to your life, but maaaybe your chart of accounts isn't the best place for it? 🤷

Things we've seen that we're still trying to unsee:

→ A "Personal expenses" account (this really shouldn't need to be a thing; it's best practice to reclassify these!)

→ 3 different versions of "Office Expenses", "Office Expense", "Office" 😬

→ Subaccounts on subaccounts on subaccounts

→ Vague account names that make sense to you (but not to anyone else)

I *do* work with small business owners whose bookkeeping is currently being done in a spreadsheet or Xero, but we'll be migrating your books into QuickBooks. 🫶

I truly believe QuickBooks is the best option for small businesses because it simplifies the bookkeeping systems and processes. 🖥️

👏 As for the transition? I'll handle it!

I do this all the time for small business owners, and I swear you're going to LOVE QuickBooks once you see how easy systems integration is for small businesses.

✈🚂🚘 Planes, trains, and automobiles (and a whole bunch of receipts you need to keep) if you traveled for work this spring ↓

🧾 Flights, train tickets, ride shares, or rental cars

🧾 Hotels, AirBnbs, Vrbos

🧾 Parking + tolls

🧾 Meals (while traveling)

🧾 Conference fees or tickets

🧾 Plane WiFi

Basically, when in doubt, save your receipts, and we'll let you know which ones will help lower your tax bill. 😃

→ Your bank accounts to sync all of your transactions automatically

→ Customizable reports that you can compare to prior periods

→ To pay contractors and easily file their 1099s in one place

→ Extra features like branded invoices, time tracking, or inventory tracking

Your spreadsheet is tired! 🫩

Sometimes the stories are good, sometimes they expose those things you've been meaning to get to... for the past five months.

😉 Just so you know, we see these things in small business's books all the time, but we're NEVER judging you for them.

Bookkeeping problems get messier and more expensive the longer they go unresolved... We don't want that for you! ☹

I'm side-eyeing your pricing if I hear this from a small business owner ↓

👀 "I'm literally booked to capacity and couldn't take on a new project or client if I wanted to."

👀 "I'm paying MORE for subscriptions, payroll, contractors, rent, but I'm paying myself LESS."

😮 This is gonna surprise you...

The number one reason small business owners hire me is NOT because they don't know how to do their bookkeeping. 🙅

👍 It might not be right up their alley, but they can definitely figure out the bookkeeping basics.

The *real* reason small business owners hire me?

I hear it over and over again:

⏳ "My time is better spent making sure the company I founded is operating by my values."

Or other small business owners tell me:

📚 "I don't want to spend my verrrry limited free time doing my bookkeeping."

Even though bookkeeping might not be the best use of YOUR time, that doesn't mean it's not super important for your business!

It just means you shouldn't be the one doing it (just leave it to someone like little ol' me). 👩‍💻
