RECYCLING BIN REMOVAL

Due to the continued misuse and contamination of community recycling bins, the Monona County Sanitary Landfill Agency will be removing all recycling bins from local communities on or before September 1, 2026.

We appreciate everyone who has properly used the recycling bins and helped keep our communities clean. Unfortunately, continued misuse has made the community bins unsustainable.

♻️ RECYCLING IS STILL AVAILABLE!

The Monona County Transfer Station in Turin will continue to accept recycling at our facility.

🚧Heads up, everyone! 🚧

Starting Monday, April 20, 2026, our scale will be temporarily down for the installation of our new scale for about 10–14 days. While we get things back in top shape, all loads will need to be weighed at the coop before coming in to landfill!

We appreciate your patience and cooperation while we make these improvements—it’ll be worth it! 🗑

Got questions? Give us a call at (712) 353-6300.

🚫 STOP! THIS IS NOT TRASH! 🚫

Garbage DOES NOT belong in this bin.

Only recyclable materials (paper, cardboard, certain plastics & metals) go here.

Putting trash in this bin contaminates the recycling and can cause the entire bin to be thrown away.

✅ Trash goes in the trash can.
❌ Trash does NOT go here.

Please take this seriously! Let’s keep our recycling clean and effective. ♻️

THIS ALL CAME OUT OF A RECYCLING BIN AND STRAIGHT TO THE LANDFILL! ALSO, NO PLASTIC BAGS!
