New Emergency Alert System for Tuscaloosa County

Tuscaloosa County EMA is upgrading how we keep you informed during emergencies.
Starting June 19, 2026, a new alert system called RAVE Alert will replace the current Everbridge (TuscALERT) system. This new platform will provide faster, more reliable emergency notifications to help keep our community safe.

Beginning June 12, current TuscALERT users should check their email for instructions to register in the new system.

RAVE Alert will deliver important updates like:
• Severe weather warnings
• Public safety emergencies
• Evacuation and shelter information
• Missing persons alerts
• Other urgent notifications

“This upgrade is a major step forward in how we communicate during emergencies,” said EMA Director Nick Lolley.

More details will be shared soon, stay tuned and make sure you’re signed up so you don’t miss critical alerts when they matter most.

The West Alabama INTERCEPT Task Force is asking parents and guardians of K-12-age children to take a few minutes to complete this survey and consider participating in an upcoming parent focus group.

While the task force investigates human trafficking and child exploitation cases, officers have also seen a growing number of cases involving very young children being targeted online, sharing inappropriate images, or communicating with people they should not be communicating with.

Investigators want to better understand how parents get information, what concerns they have, and provide resources for keeping their kids safe online.

The survey is anonymous, and the feedback will help the task force improve education and outreach efforts for families across West Alabama.

More information about the focus groups is included below.
