We are incredibly grateful to Jeff and the excellent class he provided. Exceptional training opportunity for our firefighters. We highly recommend this class to all members of the fire service. Thank you, Jeff!

I’d like to thank the Tuscola Fire Department for inviting me to present the blended Building Comprehension for the Fire Service program. We split it up into two evening training sessions over the past month, and focused heavily on building types very common to Tuscola and the surrounding area. We had a great turnout each night, lots of enthusiasm, engaging discussions and questions. We also had members from Pesotum and Sadorus also attending.
We went through a lot of content on size up, improving spatial and situational awareness, exterior visual pattern recognition in single family and multi family buildings, anticipating common floor plans, stairwell types and locations in structures, and using all of this to help make better tactical decisions with line stretches, search, laddering, etc. We also went through a lot of balloon frame and newer lightweight framing content and studied a number of specific architectural types of homes and apartment buildings.
I’d like to especially thank TFD Assistant Chief Todd Ray and TFD Chief Brian Moody for reaching out and working with me to coordinate the training sessions. Thanks to all of you that attended and for giving me the opportunity to contribute this to your training program. Stay safe!

This evening we were visited by our Regional EMS Director who recognized an Arrow Ambulance crew and several members of our fire department for outstanding care provided during a recent call for a person having a cardiac emergency.

Members were presented with challenge coins noting “Recognition For Excellence In Service.”

The Director noted that nationally, out of every 10 patients who experience cardiac arrest outside of a hospital, only 10% recover without neurological defect. He also noted that this was the second such call our department was involved with in the past month that had a similar positive outcome for a patient.

Proud of our team and their commitment to providing excellent care!
