The Atoka County Commissioners have voted to lift the Burn Ban effective today Monday October 5th for Atoka County.

Please make sure to call in all controlled burns to the Atoka County sheriff’s office non emergency number at 1-580-889-2221.

As always use caution when burning!

This afternoon will be another high fire danger day. We are still under a burn ban, if you see smoke or fire report it.

Late evening structure fire in the area of S Timberline rd. Unfortunately the home was a total loss and was already fully engulfed upon arrive. Fortunately there were no injuries and quick response was able to keep the fire from spread to further structures and fields. We appreciate the assistance from City of Atoka, OK. Fire Department. , Atoka County E911, Atoka County EMS, Atoka County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies and Of course Dispatch. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers for their loss.
