QR Codes were dead... until one inflection point, COVID. Now we use QR Codes for everything!

I think we are headed to the same inflection point with voice dictation, WisprFlow has been that for me. I now use voice dictation for nearly everything I do in life.

Metrics don't lie. But they don't tell the whole story either.

At a past firm, two numbers got tracked every week: Open Tickets and Closed Tickets.

I topped the board on both. Most closed of anyone on the team. Most open too — because I was moving faster and carrying more than everyone else.

Didn't matter. In the company-wide meeting, I got called out as the least responsive person in the room. One number, zero context, wrong conclusion.

That's what happens when you track metrics in isolation. They mean nothing until you connect them to what's actually happening on the ground.
