5 Behaviors to Help Leaders Navigate Communication During Stressful Times

In times of crisis, employees seek guidance from their leaders. Here are 5 key behaviors for navigating crisis communication:

1️⃣ Concern: Addresses the safety and well-being of employees.
2️⃣ Timely Transparency: Share what you know when you know it. Be open about ongoing efforts.
3️⃣ Empathy: Speak with heart. Show empathy, understanding, and acknowledge others’ concerns.
4️⃣ Direct Outreach: Identify those most affected and reach out personally. Ask, "How can I be most helpful to you right now?"
5️⃣ Resource Connection: Connect employees to support systems and resources. Let them know help is available.

- The “broken rung” is still holding women back
- Women leaders are more active champions of DEI
- Women of color face more challenges and get less support

Congrats to Rhea Rossiter Koziatek, MHRM for passing the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) certification exam!

Kaizen Human Capital purchased and donated several learning systems to well-deserving Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies SHRM Chapter students who aspired to be SHRM certified.

Using both the learning system and instruction from professor Ifedapo Adeleye, Rhea put in the hard work and commitment to be the first in the cohort to pass the exam and earn a $300 gift certificate to cover the exam expenses.

Thanks to Kim Rudrud and the Holmes Corporation team for their support in obtaining the learning systems.
