Lake County Local Road Safety Plan (LRSP) – Public Meeting Announced
Date: March 23, 2026
Time: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Location: Lakeport City Council Chambers
225 Park St
Lakeport, CA 95453

Description: The Lake Area Planning Council (Lake APC) invites community members to attend an open house public meeting to learn about ongoing updates to three Local Road Safety Plans (LRSPs) for the County of Lake, the City of Clearlake, and the City of Lakeport.

What is a Local Road Safety Plan (LRSP): A Local Road Safety Plan (LRSP) is a study that identifies and prioritizes roadway safety improvements on local roads. The process relies on data analysis, field evaluation, and collaboration with community members and local agencies to better understand safety conditions and identify strategies to reduce the number and severity of crashes across the region.

Format: In-person and online

In-person
The public meeting will be held in an open-house format. Attendees may arrive at any time and stay for any length of time. The team will open the meeting with a brief presentation describing the project. After, the presentation will play on a continuous loop throughout the evening. Community members will have the opportunity to speak with members of the project team, ask questions, provide feedback on roadway safety, and complete a survey regarding local traffic safety.

Online
For those who wish to learn more but are unable to attend in person, use the following link to attend online from 5:00-5:15 PM for the live presentation:

Survey: As part of the LRSP updates for the County of Lake and the cities of Clearlake and Lakeport, the Lake Area Planning Council is gathering input from residents about local traffic safety issues. The survey provides an opportunity to share experiences, highlight locations of concern, and help the project team gain a clearer picture of roadway conditions throughout the region.
The survey takes less than 5 minutes to complete, and respondents may pinpoint specific areas where they believe safety improvements are needed.
