Our foresters Matthew Gilbert and Cameron Kyle spent Sunday at the Forestry Expo during Paul Bunyan Days!

This annual event is a great celebration of Mendocino County’s timber industry, bringing together forestry professionals, families, and community members. This event is a great way for us to connect with our community, and celebrate the people and traditions that make forestry such an important part of our region.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by, we’re already looking forward to next year!

A huge congratulations and thank you to Dave Terry on his retirement!

After 40 years of dedicated service, from 1986 to 2026, Dave is officially retiring from Humboldt Redwood Company, where he finished his career as a Pony Rig Sawyer.

Dave has been a crucial part of our team, and we’re incredibly grateful for the time, hard work, and dedication he has given to our company over the years.

Everyone, please join us in congratulating Dave and wishing him all the best as he begins this exciting new chapter! 👏🎉

Together, Humboldt Redwood Company and Trout Unlimited are working to restore the North Fork Elk River.

See the full restoration story on YouTube at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVzUXL1R7N8

From improving fish habitat and water quality to road rehabilitation and erosion reduction, this collaborative project is helping support the long-term health of the watershed.

Hear from Mike Miles, Director of Forest Planning and Conservation at Humboldt Redwood Company, and Marisa Parish Hanson of Trout Unlimited as they share more about the restoration work taking place.

Special thanks to Pacific Earthscape for being part of this project.

Summer vacation is nearing an end, but there's still plenty of sunshine and days left to venture out. If you're in the Humboldt County area, come stop by Scotia, CA, and check out our Humboldt Redwood Fisheries Exhibit.

We recently upgraded the exhibit with a brand new footbridge built by Doug Hess!

The exhibit includes six tanks, where you can see fish species such as Chinook salmon and steelhead trout while learning about the work we do in our forestlands. Visit our website below to learn more, or call (707) 601-5546 for more information or to schedule a guided tour.

We're excited to bring back our series, where we shine a light on the people who help make our company what it is.

To kick it off, we want to introduce you all to Annetta Sheean, who has been with our company for 26 years!

As our Home Depot Field Representative, Annetta works with 100+ Home Depot stores across California in her territory, making sure our redwood, Douglas-fir, and preservative-treated products are stocked, organized, and looking their best. She also works closely with store associates, helps with product knowledge, and supports the rollout of new products.

If you've worked with Annetta, you've probably seen her dedication firsthand. Her coworkers describe her as hardworking, dependable, and a true powerhouse. She continually goes above and beyond every day and has been instrumental in pushing through new SKU’s as needed into the stores in her market. Over the years, she's also built strong relationships with Home Depot store managers and regional leaders, helping ensure our customers receive the best products and service possible.

Over the past 26 years, Annetta has made a lasting impact on both our team and the stores she supports.

When she's not working, Annetta enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, weekend getaways to Tahoe City, and working in the yard.

Thank you, Annetta, for everything you do. We're lucky to have you as part of the team!

In an effort to help predict the next earthquake in our area, Humboldt Redwood Company worked closely with the California Geological Survey, U.S. Geological Survey, and Cal Poly Humboldt to identify the existence of a fault line on the company’s property. The process to identify the fault will be published in a scientific report within the year.
