I have been anxiously waiting to show you all these quilts. Now that they have been gifted I can share. Both quilts are extra long for my brother and sister in law. Best part is that I was able to do my brother’s quilt entirely out of my stash. Winning. Wishing you and your family a very happy new year.

LNL is expanding with online classes. It’s been trial and error finding the best fit for everyone. But man has it been fun. Right now I am working with a group of ladies to help get all the bugs out before future classes become public. Our first online adventure was the ever popular jelly roll race. I absolutely love how each top turned out and how each ladies creative personalities shined. Soon classes will be made available to everyone. I appreciate your patience and support as we iron these bugs out. In the meantime here’s a free pattern to create an amazing pillow for your home. Great project to work with your holiday stashes.

Sorry for our absence, apparently we decided now was a great time to get sick. Can’t we schedule these colds later…or never…??? No worries, we made the best of our time at home. Lyrah has been madly working on a Halloween table runner made out of half square triangles. This project was super kid friendly using a charm pack. She was easily able to draw lines down the squares and using scissors cut them apart. She’s awesome, what can I say? Soon we will venture back out into the world and stock up on Halloween candy.

You’ll pardon my absence when I give you guys the good news… Lee is home. Finally our little family is whole again. It’s always an adjustment when he comes back. I have to share my bed again (he snores) but hey at least he can take out the garbage now. Lyrah has been at his side everyday telling him everything she has been doing.

Please enjoy this free download patriotic quit.
When making this top, please think of our service members past and present.

Summer cannot be complete without a trip to the fair. Together we enjoyed snow cones, freshly squeezed lemonade and lots of laughter. Lyrah got her aim on as she won a giant snuggle tooth. (Wetmore Forest book character). We closed out the 2021 Montana State Fair with a ride on the Ferris Wheel. So sticking with a theme of fair and Ferris wheels please enjoy this free Ferris wheel pattern from the Fat Quater Shop.

Alrighty. Man where had this week gone? Summer is flying by fast. I’m ok with that because truly I love fall and winter. The colors and smells have to be my favorite. But summer does bring out the adventure side and lots of chores. This week we ventured to Giant Springs Fish Hatchery. For 25 cents Lyrah was able to get a handful of fish food and toss it to the trout. We went through several quarters and it was well worth it. Just a beautiful short walk away from the fish is the worlds shortest river of only 201 feet. The Roe River joins the Missouri in Great Falls, MT. See now I just shared a little fun snap of trivia. Hope that question comes up on jeopardy and you all get it right. Enjoy what’s left of summer and remember your sunscreen. Below is a free pattern with little fish. It’s been fun finding these patterns that go along with our week.

On this week’s adventure, Lyrah and I went to explore the Charlie Russel Art Museum. I can honestly say I haven’t been there for years. We enjoyed walking around the museum and picking our favorite pieces in each room. She was so curious about how each part of the Buffalo was used and in complete shock about Charlie Russel’s life. The questions never stopped, thank goodness for google lol.

Below find a free pattern to a fitting western quilt. Each post I’ll try to find a free quilt pattern that I hope inspires you to add it to your stash.

Hello hello. It’s been a while since I have posted. I recently had lasik done and took a screen break to help my eyes. The waiting was the worst part. I was a nervous wreck but oh my goodness the surgery was so quick and smooth. If you have a loved one that has been thinking of lasik I highly encourage it. The strangest part about this new vision is not waking and being able to see but rather washing my face and getting ready for bed. I feel like I’m missing a step of my normal routine as I go to sleep. So now that I can see and everything is good Lyrah and I are back sewing. Recently I have been making Christmas stockings fun a couple of families. Lyrah decided that they were so much fun to do and look at that she needed a new one. Anyone guess what color it will be? While visiting one of the quilt shops in Helena they shared a free pattern with me. I’ll share it with you guys as well and hope it inspires you to create something amazing.

Want to know the best way to beat the summer heat…? Go on a shop hop of your own. This weekend, we took the time to go visit my brother and his lovey wife in Bozeman and of course we had to stop at every shop along the way. Makes for a more comfortable trip if you stop often and stretch your legs. A 2 1/2 drive might have taken us 5 hours. Even better, we got him to chauffeur us around to a few more shops. He was a champ. Might have to owe him one after this. We met some amazing quilters and shop owners in our travels. The quilting world is smaller than you think. While we were shopping in Whitehall we ended up chatting with a gal from our home town. The owner there was such a delight she took the time to show us an awesome ruler and technique developed by a fellow Montanian. Each place we stopped at greeted us with friendly smiles. Any and every quilt shop is always a wonderful place to visit and chat with fellow fabric lovers. Side note, don’t leave the child unattended with the uncle, she might return with a fun drink with whipped cream.
