🦋 Beautiful Black Swallowtail Butterfly (Papilio maackii) 🦋

These stunning butterflies are native to Japan, China, and Korea, and photos simply don't do them justice. Their iridescent colors shift beautifully in different lighting, revealing flashes of turquoise, emerald, and sapphire.

This piece took several weeks to create. Each gemstone was individually hand-glued into place, the frame was hand-painted, and every element was carefully selected and arranged by hand.

Our beautiful main character was meticulously hydrated and posed, while the surrounding foliage was foraged and dried to complement the display. I chose to keep the botanical elements minimal so nothing would distract from the breathtaking beauty of this butterfly.

Every piece I create is one of a kind, but this one feels especially magical. 🖤✨
