Feeling great again as a runner. Have been working steadily to build myself up after an injury in Sept last year. I decided on a very slow and steady build starting in November and today I felt great doing a Hill WO today. 1.2 miles easy warmup, 1 mile tempo run, then 1.2 miles of hills 1 min hard followed by :30 sec jog. Did that 7 times and then about 1 mile ez. Told my wife, "I ran like a deer today!" haha... an aging 73 (next month) deer. My long run on Sunday will be 10 miles at a slow pace.
Here's the point!
I've made every mistake known to mankind in my 73 years but have made a few good decisions. 1.) I started running at the age of 30 and have never stopped. 2.) I quit drinking at the age of 50 3.) I started 'cross training' at the age of 55. So in addition to running, I do a lot of calisthenics, dumb bell work, cycling on my non run days. 4.) I work hard every other day as rest days are imperative. 5.) I eat lean and have kept my weight to about 153 today (I was 155 in college). 6.) my long runs are easy, my other workouts are about 75% of capacity.
When I was much younger, I was invincible. However now the game is to stay in the game. So far the plan is working.
The other thing I did that was a stroke of brilliance on my part was to start up the STRANGE BREW BAND / CLAPTON PROJECT again 5 years ago with my wife. Why??? It's the thing that I do with her. Our love of music is how we got together, we do it together.
We have a big show at THE BROOK ARTS CENTER, on June 21st. It's located in Bound Brook NJ...

We have a KILLER BAND and AMAZING SHOW...
I'm going to be sharing about how I got started in music and how the CLAPTON SHOW was formed. It's a fun story. Stay tuned for that.
The third thing I've done that is a bonus me and humanity is to follow my dream in the domain of business. I'm so blessed😎 to have a great company www.molloysales.com and one of a kind process to help our clients.
So despite all the breakdowns along the way, LIFE IS AMAZING and I'm THRILLED BEYONE BELIEF to be so active at this age. THANK GOD!
