Kinda cool tractor I found in our shop today, wonder what it's used for on the construction site. Probably could pull a scraper pan pretty fast and float across the grade with those big tires.

Staying fueled and hydrated with watermelon and fresh fruit as we work through this stretch of hot weather!

The Kurk Crews are working this week, prepping and pouring concrete, excavating a pond, and installing a sanitary lateral.

To help protect our team from the heat, we are providing plenty of water, sports drinks, and healthy snacks, scheduling extra breaks, shortening workdays when needed, checking in with crews throughout the day, and reinforcing the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Material testing in action.

At every commercial project, and some of our residential projects, each concrete pour is carefully tested to ensure it meets project specifications.

Independent material testing professionals check the concrete temperature, measure the slump, and verify the approved mix design is delivered to the job.

Small concrete cylinders are also cast from each pour. These samples are cured and then tested for compressive strength, typically at 7 days and 28 days, to confirm the concrete is achieving the required performance.

It is one of the many behind the scenes quality control steps that helps ensure projects are built to last.

Sort of offensive photo to share in the middle of Summer if we do say so ourselves.

This photo is from February, pouring a precast deck topping in preparation for the wood structure to built above. We will be back at this site soon to complete sidewalks and driveway aprons, which means move in is right around the corner for the new residents!

A great patio is the ultimate foundation for Wisconsin summers an we love working with Bower Design & Construction to help bring some of their beautiful outdoor spaces to life!

Two of our favorite patios that you can check out are Tailwinds Brewing Company in Union Grove and the second floor patio at Liars' Club Bar in Burlington (well...maybe it's a deck, but it needed concrete columns 😉)
