****new scam alert ****
I had a lady message me wanting to place an order for 5 rings and 5 pendants. I'm thinking that's great and ask for the sizes she needs for each ring and what type of pendants. She sends me two of my own pictures I'd posted on my page of what she wants. I confirmed she wants 5 of the SAME size rings and 5 of the SAME pendants, she said yes. Then she asks for my payment info and I tell her I will send her a picture of the completed items and a tracking number before payment is required. She asks AGAIN for my payment information and I just copy and paste my previous response. She gives my response a heart emoji, and I don't think any thing of it. So fast forward a few days and I message her a photo of her items that are complete and ask for a mailing address. (Side note, had a bad storm in my area and the power flickered off and on this same day I'm messaging her. ) It said "could not send" and I just thought it was because of the power outage. I gave it a few minutes to let my wifi reboot and tried to send it again, same thing, "could not send". I try to send her a message instead of a picture and I got a response back saying "this person is unavailable on Messenger". So now I'll really confused. I've been speaking with this person for a few days now on messenger, why are they unavailable now? I have other items to finish and blanks to cut for a festival coming up so I tell myself I'll try again later. I try again the next day to contact her and I get the same response, "this person is unavailable on Messenger" So I thought well let me look her up on Facebook and try to get in contact with her that way. NO BODY WITH THE NAME AND PICTURE I HAVE FROM MESSENGER!!! So now the little voice inside my head that sees the glass as half empty pipes in and say WOW, you've just avoided a scam, you're so lucky you didn't give that person your payment information!!!π³
I don't have a website or an Etsy shop just a page and I've taken hundreds of orders from messenger without doing any kind of research into the person ordering from me. But now I'm thinking I might need to from here on out.
What do y'all think? Did I avoid a new scam or do I keep trying to contact this person?
