Today, we recognize Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience, and the ongoing journey toward equality.

Here in Fayette County, we are proud to honor this important chapter in our nation's history through local events, educational opportunities, and community celebrations that bring people together to reflect, learn, and celebrate.

As we continue celebrating America250th anniversary, Juneteenth reminds us that the story of our nation is shaped by many voices and experiences. We encourage everyone to take time today to learn more about the significance of Juneteenth and support the events and activities happening throughout Fayette County, PA.

The capsule contains artifacts, letters, memorabilia, and items that tell the story of America today for future generations.
