When I work on a home or appliance, it’s going to be better than it was well before it broke.

I was then recruited by a regional appliance chain for my operational and service excellence. I accepted the challenge of training their appliance repair technicians to improving consistency and overall customer satisfaction when appliances failed. Now I’m living up to the standards I taught.

Cleveland sure is beautiful.

Working for Kmart then Bed Bath and Beyond as project manager live opened or remodeled 100’s of stores east of Mississippi River.

I can say with confidence it’s more beautiful than queens NY. I think Boston and Philly might have a leg up on CLE. The rest of the east coast doesn’t stack up IMO.

🔧✨ Throwback to an Awesome Adventure at Skyzone! ✨🔧

Guess what? I recently had the incredible opportunity to bring a piece of nostalgia back to life - the classic arcade game Jurassic Park at Skyzone! 🕹️🦖 Found through Angi Pro Services, thanks to my history of top-notch appliance repair, I was called in for a mission that turned out to be as exciting as the game itself!

The mission? Reviving the beloved gun #2. Sounds simple, but the anticipation and excitement in the air were palpable. The kids were on the edge of their seats, and the employees (who are just as passionate about the game) watched on, eager to jump back into action. 🎮👾

The moment of truth came when the employee with the reigning high score put the repaired gun to the test. Spoiler alert: Huge smiles all around! 😄 The game was back, better than ever, reigniting countless memories and creating new ones.

The cherry on top? The business was so impressed with the blend of professionalism and skill I brought to the table, they’ve asked me to bring my toolbox and magic touch to another location to breathe life into more arcade classics. 🧰💼

This experience was a reminder of the joy and connection that comes from what I do. It’s not just about fixing things; it’s about restoring memories, bringing joy, and ensuring every job exceeds expectations. Whether it’s a leaky faucet or a treasured arcade game, every project is a new adventure.

Honesty First, Always: When Mistakes Happen, We Make it Right.

We believe in doing things the right way, even when it means taking a hit. Today, while installing a new dishwasher for a customer, our technician (let's call him Bob, because everyone loves Bob) ran into a snag. He cross threaded the water inlet valve causing a small leak.

Now, the easy option would have been to downplay the situation, maybe blame the old parts, or tape it up and hope the small drip goes unnoticed, or try to blame the manufacture and claim a free part.

But that's not who we are. We own our mistakes, and we always prioritize our customers' satisfaction over short-term gain. This industry is known for shady business transactions. We believe the only way to stay clear of doubt and fear is to take advantage of every opportunity to be transparent and honest. After all, Although Bob might think he’s perfect after having no issues in over a year, today he was reminded he’s human like the rest of us. Maybe super human…but human nonetheless 😉

So, here's what we did:
*Communicated.* We didn't try to hide the leak or patch it up temporarily. We made sure the customer was aware of the issue and explained it clearly.

*Acted fast* We knew the inconvenience this caused, so we immediately ordered a brand new, high-quality water inlet valve and We're covering the cost entirely, no questions asked.

*Doubled down on service* Bob will be heading back out at no additional charge to install the new part and ensure everything is up and running perfectly.

Sure, this means we won't be making profit on this job. And Bob was embarrassed for a moment. But at FaciliFix, integrity is more important than the bottom line. We believe in building trust with our customers, one honest job at a time. Bob is going to sleep good tonight and we have gained the trust of another customer.

When things go wrong, we see it as an opportunity to win a life long customer since this is when true character is revealed.

Kitchenaid Built-In Warming Drawer was not responsive: No heat, no indicator light, it had instantly become another junk drawer until repaired.

This is as the thermostat or thermocouple that has failed. Easy enough to test using a multimeter. If there’s no continuity then the part is bad. Easy to verify by connecting both wires together to “jump” the thermostat. Everything should work like normal with the wires jumped. Be sure to unplug the unit first!

*Do not leave like that and do not use without a thermostat! That’s a sure fire way to burn down your house.*

This will be only $60 part and $179 for diagnostic and part install. Grand total of $239.

Benefits of DIY plumbing. There are many. Here’s a few of the big ones. What are we missing?

- Gives you a good reason to kick those really big problems down the road. Like budgeting. Who has time for the important stuff when you have problems that demand your attention immediately?

- You can learn a new skill. Like how to cut and remove an old cast iron waste line without splattering p**p on your face.

- You can finally answer the question “what does p**p taste like?”

- You’ll put the geometry you learned in highchool to use.

- If you enjoy where’s Waldo puzzles, you really enjoy finding a 1” fitting in an aisle that’s nearly 50’ long.

- You’ll expand your knowledge of the English language. For example, you may learn theres more than one meaning for OD. And you’ll learn new ways to use ID as well. All while learning what nominal means. Normally that’s learned in a very effective “hands on” approach too. Thats much better than watching a 30 minute video.

- Instead of converting your time into money and keeping in banks or mutual funds or college savings programs where you will never see it, you can buy things you can see and touch. And always for a lot longer than you thing. Don’t let those “I need that one day” thoughts deter you.
