Pennsylvania schools have new CPR, AED, and cardiac emergency preparedness requirements coming — and 2029 will be here faster than it sounds.
Greg Moyer’s Law (Act 17 of 2026) gives schools until May 13, 2029 to reach full compliance, with important reporting requirements beginning even sooner.
That means now is the time for districts to start asking:
Who on our staff is currently CPR/AED certified?
Are we meeting the required training frequency?
Do we have trained personnel in every building?
Are our AEDs accessible, current, and properly documented?
Do we have a cardiac emergency response plan in place?
You do not have to figure it out alone.
Appalachian Safety Company provides CPR/AED training for school employees and can help your team start preparing now — before compliance becomes a scramble.
Whether you need to train a small group of required personnel or coordinate training across multiple buildings, we can help you build a practical plan.
