Penn State is advancing Pennsylvania's manufacturing economy with 6 industry partnership projects funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development's Manufacturing PA Innovation Program.

Our team is happy to share that PennTAP client Baby's Breath (Allegheny County) will partner with the Penn State Center for Biodevices thanks to funding from the program. The project will advance the company's infant oral care product.

PennTAP's Advisor in the SWPA region, Nicholas Ritchie, helped to facilitate this exciting partnership as part of our mission to help PA manufacturers connect with Penn State's research enterprise.

The 47 projects support partnerships with local manufacturing companies through 21 Pennsylvania Universities across 19 counties. June 14-18, hosted by Penn State Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Harold and Inge Marcus Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering.

Researchers, practitioners, and industry leaders from around the world will meet in University Park to share cutting-edge advances across manufacturing systems and processes, additive manufacturing, smart manufacturing, cyber-physical systems, and materials processing.

The week-long program will feature speakers, technical sessions, expert panels, tutorials, networking events, an industry night, and more, and will address critical topics in manufacturing, including AI, workforce development, and research gaps affecting industry.
