Just like your business is aimed at making a portrait session easy for busy Mamas, engagement on Instagram should be easy too. Here are five ways to not only improve your engagement but also let your potential clients get to know you better!
👉🏻 Share save-worthy information
The Instagram algorithm is favoring the ‘save’ metric over the number of likes your image receives, so don't stress if the number of likes isn't high. Focus your static content on what information your client would want to come back to. Your captions don't always have to relate to the image you are sharing.
👉🏻 Use the Question Box
Be a conversation starter! This can be used to help potential clients get to know you more, answer questions about your offerings, share motherhood-related hacks, or hear from your followers.
👉🏻 Ask for their opinion
Use the Poll or Question Sticker in stories to make it easy for followers to engage and get feedback! This can provide some fun feedback for photographers if you show two images and ask for opinions. Do followers prefer black and white or color images, smiling at the camera or candid, details or wide angles, etc.
👉🏻 Let followers get to know you
Show your beautiful face in your stories! Letting clients in to your day-to-day, even if you think you aren't "interesting" (we promise, you are!). This has a huge impact on your engagement. If you don't like being on stories, at the very least show your face on your static feed once every 9 squares.
👉🏻 Use carousel posts
The average engagement rate for Instagram carousels are higher than single images. This is a great way to show more images from a session too, especially if you are high volume and don't have time to post as often as you'd like.
These are just a few of the ways to boost your engagement, and probably some of the easiest for you to implement! We're creating a comprehensive guide that we hope to share soon, but until then we hope this is helpful! Drop any questions below! 👇🏻
