Seeking to hire a qualified Shop Manager for a wonderful family owned business that started with 1 truck and now has more than 190 power units!

This position must be capable of performing the majority of required maintenance and service on Class A Fleet vehicles with minimal support from others.

Works with shop personnel when performing highly technical or intricate diagnostic type repairs. This position would require some mechanical work and you will have 9 supporting personnel to help in your shop. We do all of our maintenance and repairs in house and are looking for a qualified technician to lead our team!

Task assignments are directed by you to encourage skill development in a productive manner.

The Fleet Shop Manager works under general supervision of the designated Fleet Manager.

Exercises some judgment and discretion in resolving issues or making repairs.

Requirements:

-Post-secondary vocational education or equivalent experience preferred.

-Must meet minimum tool requirement.

-Must have a valid driver's license

-Valid CDL (license A or B) is preferred but not required.

-Must possess state license as required

-Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

-Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.

Must be able to:

-Pass a Drug Test
-Pass a road test
-Pass a Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.

Responsibilities:

Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including:

-Performs standard vehicle maintenance
-Performs preventive maintenance
-Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
-Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision
-Replaces defective components as instructed
-Works unsupervised on most tasks
-Performs facility maintenance duties
-Interacts with drivers to properly determine nature of complaint
-Utilizes key functions of shop system and electronic documentation available.
-Works in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT).
-Acts as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels.
-Demonstrate the ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents.
-Other support duties as required to support operations.
-Experience with diagnostic scan tool software as required by location fleet.

-Out for 8 days and home for 2
-Pays 50-52 cpm + performance bonuses when you run more than 2500/week and this run averages 3200 miles/week so you'll qualify for 3cpm more for this lane! I need someone who is not scared to run hard!
