Every day in this business is a new adventure. Today, it led me to horses.
I've have the pleasure of supporting our newest wholesale customer, New Star Sanctuary, as they open The Tack Room Cafe. It's a licensed coffee shop inside their horse barn, and every cup supports the mission of their nonprofit. Over the last few months, we've done barista training, dialed in coffees to match their taste, and made several visits to work through equipment layout and the other details that help a new cafe get off on the right foot.
New Star Sanctuary gives elder horses a comfortable, loving home to spend the final years of their lives. The Tack Room raises money for their vet bills, food, and everyday care.
If you're in the Douglassville area, their grand opening is tomorrow, Saturday, October 10, from 8 AM to 2 PM at 160 Oleyline Rd. There will be fresh coffee, homemade pastries, a chicken BBQ, raffles, and giveaways, and you can meet the residents. After that, The Tack Room is open Saturdays and Sundays from 8 AM to noon.
The horse in my first selfie is Beav, and he's just 13 days older than I am (28). I still can't get over how long horses can live!
I'm proud to see how far they've come and that they're ready to open their doors. I'm confident they'll make delicious drinks and keep their mission moving forward for every horse in their care.
