Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting South Carolina’s Governor, Henry McMaster at the Greater Summerville/Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce legislative luncheon, was a gold sponsor for the event and our team invited me to attend.

No matter what your political position is there is no debating that South Carolina is growing rapidly, the economic impact can be seen across the entire state with businesses of all sizes growing, especially those around the low country.

This experience was a first of many for me, I’m grateful for the opportunity to attend and look forward to future Chamber events where I can give back to our growing community.

In May a peer of mine asked me to take over his position as a sponsor/partner from and become a mentor to one of the local . programs, at that time I had no clue what DECA was or what I would be doing, but I said I would volunteer to take his spot, after all I would at least be able to give something back to our community and help a few kids out.

Since then, I have learned more about DECA and really looking forward to seeing the program in full swing. Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting those kids and attending High School's first meeting of for the school year. I am excited to watch these kids learn and compete in their upcoming competitions and help out where I can.

My competitive nature REALLY wants to see these students WIN all the upcoming competitions and hopefully help some head to nationals. If anyone has experience with the Program I would love to connect to learn as much as I can to help these students. Additionally, if anyone would like to get involved or help the kids reach their fundraising targets, have some swag they would like to donate or any assistance please to reach out to me.
