According to the National Retail Federation, consumer spending on Halloween is expected to reach $13.5 billion this year, with 75% of Americans surveyed planning to celebrate and 42% planning to decorate.

Lombardo Homes' 2025 survey showed that pumpkins were (obviously) the most popular decoration, followed by ghosts, bats, witches and scarecrows.

Today we are honoring fashion designer and style icon Bob Mackie, who passed away at the age of 87. Mackie was known for his sparkle and shimmer on some of the biggest stars, but his home was just as elaborate.

Architectural Digest revisited their tour of his Beverly Hills home in 1989 in honor of his passing. They noted that his home was "soaked in sunlight" and full of cheer in every room.

“People come expecting black and chrome and glitter—I don’t know what they expect,” says the designer. “But when they walk in they say, ‘Oh.’ I’ve never liked a lifestyle that reflects the clothes I design—it doesn’t appeal to me. I bought the house for the light and the privacy.”

Our social media manager took a trip to New York this past spring and fell in love with the Frank Lloyd Wright room at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This living room was the center of the Wayzata House on the shores of Lake Minnetonka.

"Working closely with his clients, Wright designed every element of the house, including the furniture, windows, and light fixtures.
