You did not start a business to chase receipts.
You started it to serve customers, finish jobs, solve problems, build something useful, and hopefully make a living doing it.
But receipts still matter.
So do statements, invoices, loan documents, payroll reports, merchant reports, and notes about unusual transactions.
The goal is not to let paperwork take over your day.
The goal is to build a simple record habit so the books can be reviewed without turning every month into a scavenger hunt.
That might mean saving receipts as you go, keeping business and personal spending separate, sending statements on a schedule, and answering bookkeeping questions while the details are still fresh.
Receipts should not be the boss of you.
But they do need a place to go.
