0310L-MONDAY OCTOBER 19, 2026

SHORT AND SWEET once again with mild weather and rain chances increasing later in the week. Other than this, not much happening so as stated yesterday, now is a good time to get things ready for winter before the really cold weather arrives. Unfortunately, I don’t see that for a while. As it appears, we’ll remain slightly above normal in temps and possibly precipitation as we move closer to the end of the month. We’ll see what happens.

Overall, we’ll be ok, so here is your countywide forecast from the NWS / NORMAN:

Today- Sunny. Highs in the lower 70s. South winds 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight- Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 50s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!

0250L-SUNDAY OCTOBER 18, 2026

Yesterday was really nice and cool with virtually no wind. Today will also be nice but with gusty winds out of the south. The weekly forecast has changed, taking rain chances out until possibly next Saturday so use this time to get out when possible and get things around the house ready for winter.

Overall, we’ll be ok, so here is your countywide forecast from the NWS / NORMAN:

Sunday- Sunny. Highs in the mid-60s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Sunday Night- Mostly clear. Lows in the mid-40s. South winds 10 to 15 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!

0310L-SATURDAY OCTOBER 17, 2026

FROST ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 0900 THIS MORNING.
Chilly this morning and then warm and mild this afternoon as temps will climb back up into the mid to upper 50s to low 60s this afternoon. Winds will be mostly calm to around 5 mph so get up and find those drafty locations around windows and doors and fix them before the temps drop and stay low. We’ll be cold again tonight so just be prepared for it. We’ll warm back up with highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s by roughly mid-week.

Overall, we’ll be ok, so here is your countywide forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:

Saturday- Areas of frost in the morning. Sunny. Highs around 60. North winds around 5 mph, becoming southeast in the afternoon.

Saturday Night- Clear. Lows in the mid-30s. South winds around 5 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!

0305L-FRIDAY OCTOBER 16, 2026

Who wanted cooler temps? We’ll have them for the next several days and then we’ll warm up a little during the week. I ended up with just under 3 inches of rain over the last several days. Thank you all for your rain totals and if your totals changed since you last reported, let me know, it’s much appreciated. Temperatures will be diving into the mid to upper 30’s the next couple of nights so if you have new plants outside, you may want to cover them up.

Our next chance for rain looks to be around mid to later next week so things will dry out some between now and then. The WIND will be a factor today as gust could reach as high as 35 mph or so. If you’re traveling today, watch out for those gust especially on east/west roads.

Overall, we’ll be ok, so here is your countywide forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:

Friday- Sunny, breezy with highs in the upper 50s. North winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

Friday Night- Clear. Lows in the mid-30s. North winds 15 to 20 mph, diminishing to around 5 mph after midnight.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!

0835 LOCAL TIME OUTLOOK.

SINCE THE RAIN STARTED THE OTHER DAY, I HAVE RECEIVED 2.5 INCHES OF RAIN AND THAT TOTAL WILL INCREASE SOME MORE TODAY. SEE PIC. WE DO HAVE MORE RAIN YET TO COME SO ENJOY IT WHILE YOU CAN.

THE FRONT SHOULD PUSH IN LATER THIS MORNING OR EARLY AFTERNOON AND THEN AFTERWARDS THE RAIN WILL END AND COOLER TEMPS WILL ARRIVE.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!

0320L-THURSDAY OCTOBER 15, 2026

“FLOOD WATCH” IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM TODAY. We are also under a GENERAL THUNDERSTORM RISK today too.

The anticipated cold front should arrive sometime later this morning or early afternoon, bringing a low chance for additional rainfall. Some areas from SW OK into the OKC area have received 6-10 inches of rainfall and possibly more in some areas. I have received 1.6 inches of rain since this mess started. Let me know your totals too.

We lucked out on the flooding issue but received some good rainfall and it came in a way that it’s soaking in which is what the farmers needed. Cooler temps will follow with the front and temps Saturday morning could end up in the mid 30’s. We’ll warm back up around 80 the middle of next week. This may be a good time to dust off the jackets and coats.

Overall, we’ll be ok, so here is your countywide forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:

Today- Showers likely with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the morning & in the afternoon. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall in the morning. Highs in the mid-70s. South winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph, increasing to northwest 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain 70 percent.

Tonight- Mostly cloudy in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. Cooler. Less humid with lows in the mid-40s. North winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!

7:20 PM WEDNESDAY EVENING/OVERNIGHT OUTLOOK 10/14/26

“FLOOD WATCH” IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM ON THURSDAY.

THERE IS A CHANCE FOR SOME HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS OVERNIGHT. TORRENTIAL RAINFALL AND GUSTY WINDS FOR OUR AREA ARE NOT OUT OF THE QUESTION SO JUST KNOW THAT WE AREN’T OUT OF THE WOODS QUITE YET. THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT LOOKS TO REMAIN SOUTH OF US.

THIS SAID, WE DO HAVE A 100% CHANCE FOR RAINFALL DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS WITH “POSSIBLE” RAINFALL TOTALS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES IN ADDITION TO THE 1 INCH OR SO WE HAD DURING THE DAY.

OVERALL, WE’LL BE OK BUT JUST KNOW THAT WE’LL HAVE LIGHTNING, THUNDER, AND POSSIBLY HEAVY RAINFALL AT TIMES OVERNIGHT.

AS STATED EARLIER, THE MAIN COLD FRONT WILL PUSH INTO THE AREA SOMETIME BETWEEN LATE MORNING AND EARLY AFTERNOON, PER GUIDANCE, TOMORROW. AFTER FRONTAL PASSAGE, TEMPS WILL BEGIN THEIR DOWNWARD SURGE.

HAVE A GREAT EVENING AND SLEEP WELL!

4:20PM UPDATE:

WE HAVE RECEIVED AROUND 1 INCH OF RAIN, GIVE OR TAKE SOME AND WE ARE EXPECTING ADDITIONAL RAIN THIS EVENING AND OVERNIGHT.

SOME STORMS OVERNIGHT COULD BE SEVERE WITH HAIL BUT MOSTLY STRONG WINDS AS THE MAIN ISSUES. THE HIGHER THREAT WILL BE IN SOUTHWEST INTO SOUTH-CENTRAL OKLAHOMA SO WE ARENT OUT OF THE WOODS BUT SORTA ON THE EDGE.

DONT LET YOUR GUARDS DOWN. I WILL POST ANOTHER UPDATE EARLY THIS EVENING WITH THE LATEST GUIDANCE FOR THE OVERNIGHT HOURS.

JUST FYI, THE MAIN COLD FRONT WILL PUSH INTO THE AREA SOMETIME BETWEEN 11AM AND 2 PM ON THURSDAY. THIS COULD CHANGE SO WE'LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS.

BE BACK AFTER BIT.

0300L-WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 14, 2026

“FLOOD WATCH” IN EFFECT FROM 7AM THIS MORNING UNTIL 1 PM ON THURSDAY.

A weak front will advance into the area this morning and stall out somewhere in the vicinity. Severe weather will be possible around that boundary later today. We are in a MARGINAL RISK area so we could also see some heavy weather depending where that boundary ends up. The SLIGHT RISK area is south of us, so we’ll see where all this mess comes together. If traveling south, stay weather aware as there has been some flooding in cities and towns along the I-40 corridor overnight.

A stronger front will push in around midday Thursday bringing much colder air. It’s going to get a little chilly! We could see low temps in the 30’s Saturday morning.

Overall, we’ll be ok, so here is your countywide forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:

Today- A chance of thunderstorms. Showers. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall. Cooler with highs in the upper 70s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent.

Tonight- Showers with thunderstorms likely in the evening, then showers with a chance of thunderstorms after midnight. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall. Locally heavy rainfall possible in the evening. Lows in the mid-60s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent.

READ THE GRAPHICS CAREFULLY!
