As Texas' largest winery and one of its oldest, we're proud to craft wines for every table - from our iconic Sweet Red to award-winning wines from the Texas High Plains. Stop by our Lubbock winery & tasting room, our Fredericksburg tasting room, or our Wine Bar in Lubbock for wine flights, tours, events, and genuine Texas hospitality. Just good wine, shared with good company. That's how we've been doing it for 50 years.

Fifty years ago, almost nobody believed you could grow great w**e out here on the High Plains. We spent the last five decades proving them wrong. What you're watching happens in the dark, around 1am, when the nights are cool and the fruit is at its best. The harvester works its way down the rows, the bins fill up, and by 9am those grapes are on their way to the w**ery to begin the same journey they've taken here since 1976. This is our 50th harvest. Five decades of long nights, early mornings, and a stubborn belief in Texas w**e, and we're just getting started. Here's to year 50.

This is what harvest actually looks like behind the scenes at 1am. The harvester works its way down the vineyard, the team stays right alongside it, and nobody stops until the rows are in. Months of growing all come down to these few weeks.

We put a little bit of Texas in every basket, right down to the shape. Each one pairs Llano Estacado w**es like our Tempranillo and Grüner Veltliner with a lineup of local favorites: Texas honey, Hill Country olive oil, smoked pecan salt, praline pecans, and a jalapeño glaze with some kick.

Welcome back to Cellar Talk! In this episode, associate w**emaker Jaylan breaks down one of the most misunderstood parts of w**emaking. Why do we age w**e in barrels instead of steel? What does the wood actually do? Jaylan walks through how oak shapes a w**e over time, adding notes of vanilla, spice, and toast, softening the texture, and giving the w**e that rounder, fuller finish. Next time you catch the word "oaky" on a label, you'll know exactly what it means. Give it a watch and let us know what you want us to break down next!

Everyone sees the finished glass. Almost no one sees this part. After fermentation, the press squeezes every last drop from the skins, and then comes the dig-out. Climbing in and shoveling out what's left by hand. It's hot, heavy, physical work, and it happens long before a bottle ever reaches your table. This is harvest behind the scenes. The part of w**emaking nobody sees, and the part that makes it all possible.

Harvest season is in full swing, and this is one of our favorite parts of it, fresh off the press. There's a lot of hard work behind every bottle, and it all comes together this time of year.

There's something grounding about West Texas this time of year, and it's the backdrop to everything we do. But everything you taste passes through the hands of our w**emaker first. That's where the personality of each bottle really takes shape.

These two reds couldn't be more different in the glass. The Sangiovese is savory and bright, with tart red cherry and the kind of acidity that begs for food. Pasta, pizza, anything with a little tomato. The Dolcetto is soft and dry despite its name, all plush dark fruit and easy drinking, perfect for a friday evening.

Come visit us this weekend!
