It’s hard to believe it’s been almost a year since Ava Mae Masters , who was once my little princess client, was crowned USA National Miss Jr. Teen. Our journey together began years ago, and it has been such an honor to support her through two national title-winning journeys within the USA National Miss system. Watching her grow from a young princess into the poised, confident young woman she is today has been one of the greatest joys of my coaching career.
One thing that has remained constant is Ava Mae’s unwavering passion for USA National Miss. In fact, that passion has only grown stronger over the years. Once you experience everything UNM has to offer, it is hard not to fall in love with it, and her heart has been connected to this organization ever since. That passion fueled an incredible work ethic.
From countless in-person lessons across multiple states to virtual coaching sessions, Ava Mae consistently showed up prepared, focused, and ready to work.
She never expected success to come easily. She earned it through preparation, consistency, and a willingness to improve every single session.
When it came to creating her stage routines, she always gravitated toward a style that was clean, elegant, and uniquely her. That became the foundation of every routine we built together. Every walk, turn, transition, and moment on stage was intentional. We wanted her confidence and personality to shine without ever feeling overdone. After months of preparation, she stepped onto the national stage with ease, confidence, and authenticity. She looked completely at home under the lights because of the work she had put in long before the competition began.
What makes Ava Mae so special is who she is as a person. She is one of the most genuine, kind-hearted, and humble young women you will ever meet. Even with all of her accomplishments, she has remained grounded, gracious, and full of joy. That sweet spirit she had as a little princess is still the same spirit she carries today.
