Hester Group current and former team members fondly remember our dear friend and co-worker for over 10 years, Samuel Holman (far right).

Sam led our Project New Ground Ash Remediation Community Outreach. The EPA Region 4 recognized Sam's exemplary outreach efforts and years of service. Many in the City of Jacksonville, local not for profits and community organizations knew Sam and relied on him for his commitment to Jacksonville.

Sam also made sure that I was okay. When I looked haggard...he would remind me to take care of myself. He respected me as the owner, but he treated me like a little sister. He was fiercely protective of Hester Group.

Most importantly, Sam was a man of God. I knew without a doubt that the Lord sent Sam to Hester Group for our season. All of us that have worked with Sam feel sadness, but we also know that Sam is resting- God has called him from labor to reward. Rest Sam. Your work has not been in vain. We will honor your memory.

I have treasured memories of meeting Archbishop Desmond TuTu in 2000 in Jacksonville FL. Hester Group was responsible for the publicity of the Ritz Theatre and LaVilla Museum and the Jacksonville Sister Cities Association twinning ceremony between Jacksonville and Port Elizabeth SA. I remember how gracious he was and I was amazed at the amount of time he spent talking to me about my family and encouraging me in my work. His dedication to God -and his never ending fight for justice and peace changed the world. RIP Bishop TuTu.

My father was my greatest mentor. Always encouraging. Always believing in Hester Group. Always. He is resting in heaven now. I will miss him.

Hester Group honors the legacy and determination of Master Chief Sherman Boyd, USN. We are proud to support the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit NAB Coronado.

Cynthia Conner of Jacksonville was only 13 when her father died, but her memories of him are clear. Sherman Byrd was a strong man who loved his country

This photo was taken December 28, 1998 - the first day of Hester Group. There have been many changes over the years, our technology, furniture, and yes, even my hair has changed. What is constant are my comfy socks and the undeniable truth that Hester Group is God's vessel to be used for one purpose- to bless others. I am grateful for our dedicated employees, and I am in awe that I have been chosen to lead Hester Group. In my weakest hour and in my strongest moment- I will continue to do my very best.
