Did you catch my episode on Small Business Bestie with Michelle Smock? It is still available!

We had an insightful conversation that you won’t want to miss.

Have you ever been in a leadership meeting where everyone is technically right, but each person sees the business from a different angle?

Marketing needs one thing, operations needs another, finance has concerns, and leadership is trying to make decisions that move the whole organization forward without creating problems somewhere else.

That is where growth can start to feel much more complicated than it did before, and it is a big reason this partnership with Bloom Communications makes so much sense.

We are bringing those conversations together so leadership teams can see the business as a whole instead of treating each challenge as a separate problem.

There's more to this partnership, and I am excited to finally share why we believe it matters.

What if we started thinking about funding our businesses the same way we think about the technology we use to run them?

That was one of my biggest takeaways from the Women's Capital Summit in New York City, hosted by Women Business Collaborative.

We talk about our tech stack all the time, but we rarely give our capital stack nearly as much thought.

With more than 20 different ways to fund a business, there's an opportunity to be much more intentional about building a capital strategy that supports where we want to go.

Too often, business owners start looking for capital when they need it. The bigger opportunity is to plan for it as part of the growth journey, not as a solution to an immediate challenge.

That idea really spoke to my strategic heart.

At Your Biz Rules, we see firsthand how strong financials, thoughtful strategy, and the right operational support help businesses grow. But the summit conversations reinforced how important it is to look beyond the challenge right in front of us and plan for the business we're building.

I also loved being reminded that no matter where entrepreneurs are in their journey, many challenges are familiar. Team, growth, money, leadership, sales, service delivery. The challenges may look different as a company grows, but they don't necessarily go away. They evolve, and the support a business needs should evolve right along with them.

It's why I love the work we do and why so many of our clients stay with us for three, four, five years or more. We're able to grow and adapt alongside them as their needs change.

It was an honor to represent NAWBO as a National Board Director and spend time with so many incredible women business owners and investment partners who are committed to their success.

A big thank you to Women Business Collaborative for bringing these conversations and connections together!

A little behind the scenes for you. When I think about success, one of the things that comes to mind is the taste of ch*****ne and the way the bubbles play on my tongue.

Tonight, I decided I had something worth celebrating.

Nothing overly significant happened today. I didn't hit some huge milestone or have a big announcement to make. I simply had a pretty amazing day. I had some wonderful conversations, enjoyed the people I spent time with, and my soul got fed. I enjoy that immensely.

What made today even sweeter was the contrast to yesterday.

Yesterday was a travel day, and if you travel for business, you know things can and do go awry. I generally do my best to meet those changes with flexibility, but by the end of yesterday, I was having a hard time finding much flexibility at all! If something could go wrong with my travel plans, it pretty much did.

So today, I celebrated the contrast. I celebrated the conversations, the connection, and the simple fact that it was a really good day.

It got me thinking about how often we allow ourselves to recognize those moments, especially as entrepreneurs.

How often do you celebrate the simple things? How often do you acknowledge a good day without needing some big accomplishment to justify it?

What if celebrating those moments became something you did regularly instead of something you saved for special occasions?

At Your Biz Rules, celebrating our successes and joys is something we believe in and actually practice. We make a point of recognizing those moments and savoring them while they're happening because we want more of that in our everyday experience.

One way to get better at recognizing success is to think about it through your senses. What does success look like? What does it sound like? How does it feel? What does it taste like?

For me, sometimes it tastes like ch*****ne after a day that simply fed my soul.

What does success taste, look, or feel like to you?

One of my favorite things is when a client shares a win that has nothing to do with numbers. No sales target, no launch, no revenue spike. Don’t get me wrong, these are huge wins that deserve to be celebrated too, but there is something so simple and sweet when it sounds something like this:

“I got to the end of the week and didn’t feel like I was behind.” Or “I shut my laptop at 3 pm on a Friday and didn’t feel guilty about it.”

That tells me about how their business is working beyond any spreadsheet that we crunch together. When the right structure is in place, when your pricing reflects your value, your time is protected, and your role is clearly defined, the business starts to give something back.

That’s not luck. That’s leadership.

We don’t talk about that kind of success enough. Not the flashy kind, but the genuine kind.

So as we wrap the week, I want to ask:
What’s a quiet win you’re celebrating today, something no one else might notice, but you know it matters?

You may be busy and growing, but if every week feels like survival, you are not leading. You are reacting. Saying yes to everything keeps the wheels turning, yet it quietly steals your energy and your clarity.

Leadership asks for something more. It asks you to set the rhythm instead of chasing it. It asks you to carve out space for strategy instead of being consumed by urgency. It asks you to trust your team so the business can grow beyond you.

When you step fully into leadership, growth steadies, profitability strengthens, and your vision leads the way forward.

Are you fully stepping into your role as a leader? Let’s chat about it.
