Today we wrapped up a non-certification Basic Pumps & Rural Water Supply class hosted by Rheasville Fire Department in Halifax County.

The training included an evening focused on basic pump operations, pump discussions, and water supply operations, followed by a full Saturday dedicated to rural water supply operations and hands-on scenarios.

During our scenarios, crews worked together to maintain two Blitz Fire monitors flowing 500 GPM each, for a combined flow of 1,000 GPM. This operation required strong communication and coordination between Halifax Fire Department, Darlington Volunteer Fire Department, and Rheasville Fire Department.

Crews also deployed and maintained multiple drop tanks throughout the operation to establish and maintain an adequate water supply for sustained fireground operations.

Last week we finished with RIC with Martin Community College Fire & Rescue Program nighttime fire academy. During the class, students were faced with many different realistic scenarios that they may encounter with firefighter emergency along with the different ways that they can be able to mitigate those air emergencies.

This week we wrapped up our Driver Operator Intro/Basic Pumps class at Town of Nashville Fire Department!

Over the past two weeks, firefighters from Clayton Fire Department, Tarboro Fire Department, Zebulon Fire Department, Town of Nashville Fire Department, Rocky Mount Fire Department, and Wilson Fire Rescue came together for hands-on training focused on building solid pump operator fundamentals.

Students worked through basic progressive pump operations, including hydrant operations and drafting operations, while developing the skills and confidence needed to effectively operate fire apparatus on the fireground.

Reminder that Intro/Basic Pumps begins Monday August 3rd at Nashville Fire Department Station 2, 1520 Oak Level Road, Nashville, NC.

Due to scheduling conflicts that have come up we are having to reschedule the Hydraulics and Water Supplies Class to the following dates:
