If your House of Worship wants to understand how Senate Bill 1454 impacts your church, we can help you navigate this new law and in return, we are confident your place of worship will be far better prepared for the threats we see churches face across the country every day.
California recently changed the law affecting volunteer church security teams.
The change means some churches may now need to comply with California's private security requirements if their volunteer safety teams perform duties covered by the law.
In my opinion, this makes it harder for churches to build and maintain effective safety teams.
Many churches already struggle to recruit volunteers. Adding additional licensing requirements could become another obstacle to protecting their congregations.
Churches need more trained safety team members, not more barriers to getting them involved.
What are your thoughts?
Do you agree with California's approach, or do you think this makes it more difficult for churches to protect their people?
