48 years ago our parents followed their dream and opened Century Distributors. Our years at Century out numbered theirs, but their values, guidance, and their mission statement never changed. The three of us are leaving but we know our team at Century will remain a leader in the industry!

We are proud of Century Distributors, a small family business in Rockville Maryland. From humble beginnings, our family business has grown to leave an indelible mark, blending passion with excellence to create a lasting legacy.

Thanks to Century Distributors, Inc for the tour this afternoon of their second-generation family distributing business in Montgomery Countymd that employs 180 people. Even more impressive than the number of employees, I was struck by the number of years (often decades) that so many employees have been with the company. There's a piece of art on the wall of the reception area that reads, "Generation to Generation," a reminder of the family that owns the business and the hundreds of families that rely on it. Our economic development strategy must start with helping to retain and grow existing businesses that have deep roots providing jobs and supporting schools and non-profits in our communities. Our families and our future depend on it.
