The Founding Chapter - Our Story

River City BNI is the Founding chapter of Business Networks International in North East Florida. We started in Jacksonville in July 1992, meeting at the University Club downtown. Since then, we traditionally have met in the Downtown Jacksonville region. Currently, due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are hosting weekly virtual meetings.

We are a professional organization where the members help each other by meeting regularly (networking), educating each other about their products and service and by providing qualified referrals to help fulfill their clients and prospects' needs. Each week our members engage in word of month networking. They get to share their marketing message during open networking, when providing their weekly 60-second presentation and when they are the showcase 10 minute presenter. Referrals are passed every week and we make it fun by engaging in open networking, by planning social events, competing in fun contests and engaging in meeting stimulants exercises. One of the pillars of BNI is networking education. Each week the members are provided an educational presentation to help them hone their networking skills and to motivate them to get the most from their networking efforts. On top of this, BNI provides online classes and training, weekly podcasts and newsletters, monthly leadership events and a fabulous regional conference where you can network with 400+ BNI members. BNI also provides leadership training on an annual basis and have a leadership support team in place to help chapters and their leaders succeed. If you have never been to a BNI chapter meeting, start by visiting River City BNI, you will be glad you did.
