I did not write this, repost from my friend Gretchen who did translating it and some minor editing. But it is an interesting theory. Read it !!!!!!
* WORLD QUARANTINE *
Quarantine derives from the Latin word "quadraginta" and the Italian word "quaranta" both meaning 40.
Many Biblical events draw upon the number 40. The Big flood lasted 40 days and 40 nights, Moses spent 40 days and 40 nights in Mt. Sinai, then the Exodus lasted 40 years. Jesus was in the wilderness, fasting for 40 days. After His resurrection, Christ remained on earth for 40 days before ascending to Heaven.
I know very well, that the quarantine the government recommends may or may not be literal 40 days, but the number 40 specifically in the Bible draws my attention.
Currently, Christians observe Lent, which last 40 days. 40 days is also the recommended rest time for a woman who has just given birth.
So what about the Bible and the number 40? A group of theologians believe the number 40 represents "CHANGE", a period of trial, of a testing in order to be cleansed or refined and perfected.
If the quarantine some governments of the world are imposing lasts 40 days literally, I would like to take advantage of 40 days to be with my family, return to fasting, prayer and reading the Word in a profound way.
It does not mean that we do not read, pray or fast, because we do, but not as deeply as we could if we had 40 days without having to work or be distracted with other commitments.
I would like to take advantage of these 40 days.
In the Bible, every time the number 40 appears there is a "CHANGE" so if they quarantine us, enjoy it with your loved ones, and return to the family altar together. It will be a great blessing, and you will see the changes that God can work in you and your home. You will see that for those who love God EVERYTHING works for good.
This is pretty cool. Take this year 2020, If we add 20 + 20 = 40, whatever our beloved Father has planned for us, let us praise Him, meditate on His Word and love others with the hope of everything the King of kings and Lord of lords can do for us.
40 days for the spiritual liberation of our nation.
