We are looking for a driver for our Waldorf location. Only serious inquiries. his is a full-time position. Must have some experience with transporting vehicles and/or equipment. Can not be physically restricted or limited. Driver must be able to push, climb, lift, etc. Must have a clean MVR - NO DUIs, clean drug/alcohol and clean background. No felonies or any drunk driving/theft related convictions in the past 15 years.
Candidate must be at least 25 and have a basic understanding of cars/trucks. Duties of a tow truck operator consist of communicating with dispatcher/office manager, driving to the scene of an accident or breakdown, connecting the vehicle to the tow truck and transporting it to a service station, home or tow yard. The driver will be responsible for attaching the disabled vehicle to the tow truck, this may include using a chain, winch, sn**ch blocks and other devises as well as affixing lights onto the towed vehicle.
As a driver, you will need to be able to communicate and interact with law enforcement, the public and contract customers in a respectful knowledgeable manner. Driver will be required to write a legible tow ticket for services provided. Driver will also be responsible for collecting payment for services in the form of cash, credit card or company check.
Driver will be required to do a daily walk around of assigned tow truck. You will also be required to maintain accurate report of services needed on assigned truck and report them in a timely manner. As well as submit all fuel receipts and DOT stops/inspections. Drive truck to assigned destination to include maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations such as heavy traffic, inclement weather or in confined loading/unloading situations. Review assignments for location of the tow in or tow out and verify company truck is ready for safe operation and verify transported vehicle information including make, model, color, VIN, keys and any missing parts.
Pay will depend on experience.
