Last week, members of our team attended Arc Prince George’s County: Reimagining Possibilities. It was an event centered on expanding access, strengthening support services, and creating more inclusive communities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

We especially enjoyed hearing remarks from keynote speaker . Charlene Dukes, whose message highlighted the importance of community partnership, leadership, and continued investment in equitable opportunities for all.

Over the weekend, our very own Tejeda de Gomez was honored to attend the Torch Foundation Scholarship Fundraiser Gala. It was an inspiring evening focused on legacy, scholarship, community, and roadway safety.

The event also highlighted Maryland Senate Bill 68, the “D. Torch Road Safety Act,” sponsored by Nick Charles and signed into law this year to increase motorcycle safety awareness on Maryland driver exams. The bill honors the life and legacy of Donnell G. Floyd Jr. (“TORCH”) and continues an important mission to help make our roads safer.

We are especially proud of Jeanette, who worked tirelessly from beginning to end to help advance this important legislation and support the efforts that led to its passage.

We were proud to sponsor a table at Prince George’s County’s “A Toast to Preakness” Brunch alongside Hosea! Our very own attended on our behalf for an exciting afternoon celebrating community, culture, and one of Maryland’s most celebrated traditions leading up to Preakness weekend.

Last week, we had the honor of attending the Rosa Parks Awards Gala hosted by The Museum in The Mansion. It was an empowering evening dedicated to celebrating leadership, service, and individuals making a meaningful impact in our communities. This year’s 2026 honorees included Marable-Bunch, Lim, K. Bynum, and Blow.

The evening brought together community leaders, advocates, and changemakers while honoring the lasting legacy of Rosa Parks and the continued importance of advancing equality, opportunity, and positive change.
