Today's "How to Fund Your Business" event was a success. Attendees learned about various funding options for their small businesses, but even more importantly, they made meaningful connections with local lenders and economic development officials. Yesterday, SBDC business advisor Ujj Rai had the opportunity to work with high school seniors in the NYPA Junior Fellowship program at Mohawk Valley Community College. Ujj led the group through an activity that framed their future careers as a problem-solving game, encouraging the students to see problems as opportunities for innovative solutions.

The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation is offering an opportunity for small businesses to receive free sustainability advice. Contact DEC at the email address on the flyer for details.

It’s National Small Business Week! Celebrate by sharing with or tagging your favorite small business so they can take advantage of DEC’s new Sustainable Business Navigator program to make their business more sustainable and reduce costs.

Businesses that participate in the program have a free one-hour conversation with DEC’s sustainability experts on topics that matter to them. Since one size doesn’t fit all, what sustainability topics businesses want to talk about are up to them. The program is open to any business in New York with 100 or fewer employees.
